Using Video To Increase Sales

Using Video To Increase SalesVideo is a great way for businesses to reveal themselves. These days, people don’t just want to read up on a product before they purchase, they want to see it.

Using Video To Increase Sales Has Become Common

How You Can Use Video To Increase Sales

Here are some of the ways and types of video that can help boost sales and gain you more customers.

Create an Experience

You get to be creative and produce the experience you want your customers to have. You have to think of how you want your customers to feel after they watch your video. Do you want them to identify with your company, feel like your product or service is the best for the buck, make them curious to visit your website, or compelled to buy? Take your customers on a journey with you, thrill them, delight them, play tourist guide with your company the focus of the tour.

Show Don’t Tell

People don’t just want to read about your business product. Showing them what you have to offer is much more effective and immediate. Show what your product does in a real life setting, and how it can affect or change the customer’s life. There are many ways to do this ranging from customer testimonials, animation, white board “explainer” videos or professional actors with a skillfully written script. Testimonials are effective because someone other than you is talking about how great your product or service is. A third party opinion is very powerful and persuasive.

NuZoo produced a series of testimonials for Community Investment Corporation with customers describing their own experience in dealing with Chicago’s leading lender in affordable housing.

Video Builds Trust

When a customer watches your video, they recognize the face of your business and you build a connection with them. Show them you care by giving tips that help them. Customers want to feel like they matter, and you can show and tell them that they do.

NuZoo produced a video for AOFAS to promote their 2,100 orthopaedic surgeons. The surgeons get to tell their story, building a connection, and making them relatable and trustworthy experts.

Make a Connection

Make an emotional connection by telling your company story, the seeds of its’ beginnings, growth, how it came to life. This makes you more relatable, and allows you to discuss the company’s mission, values and ethics. This intimate style of video tells a story about the company that puts a face to the name, brings the customer inside and shows the unique qualities you want to emphasize.

In the webinar He Said / She Said NuZoo founders Mary Joan and Dan discuss the sometimes opposing, often amusing, points of view from a married business couple about their company.

What Makes A Great Marketing Video?

What Makes a Great Marketing Video?Video is one of the most important marketing tools today. A great marketing video can be shared through email, blogs, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. It’s the most shared online content and YouTube is the second largest search engine.

People just love watching videos. It’s way easier than reading pages of text trying to figure out if what you’re offering is what they’re looking for. Video is very effective in making consumers feel more confident about buying a product or service.

More of NuZoo’s clients are asking us to produce videos, and the percentage of prospects asking for video has also climbed.

Here are 3 things that go into making a great marketing video.

Get to the Point Quickly

You have about 10 seconds to make your point before you lose your audience. Get to that point quickly. Open the video by clearly and specifically answering the question, “what does your company do?” You may lose some of your audience but those who keep watching are your target market and you should be speaking to them. Keep the video 1 – 2 minutes long; that will help you make your points quickly and succinctly.

Optimize for SEO

Put your videos on YouTube and it’s like a 2-for-1 deal since Google owns the video site and gives a lot of authority to YouTube videos in its organic search results. Then create a catchy title using the same keywords in the video, description and keyword tags – don’t forget a link to your web site. You can also upload transcripts of videos that Google will index and will help SEO.

Don’t forget about Facebook. Create an engaging title and a cool thumbnail image. If you’re using employees or customers in your video you can tag them. Encourage people to review your video, and allow them to embed the video code.

Create a Media Calendar

List events, initiatives  and activities throughout the year that are relevant to your customers and produce videos based on a schedule. Plan for what you can do completely, not halfway. Plan what you feel comfortable with financially. Prioritize accordingly and use analytics to understand what’s working (or better yet, what’s not working) so you can ultimately modify the next video to become a great marketing video.

Using Marketing Videos To Promote Your Business

What Makes a Great Marketing Video? Why should you be using marketing videos to promote your company?

People love video. Video is watched on cell phones, social media, web sites, email and blogs. And marketing videos are becoming the best, easiest and fastest way to reach customers.

Did you know YouTube is the second largest search engine and dominant video channel, with Facebook a distance second? More people are visiting and doing business on YouTube and Facebook than Google. And why not? People just love watching videos. In this day and age it’s what they’re used to.

Video is easy, fun and cost effective. Marketing videos add an interactive element to any web site, making it more dynamic and interesting. And it’s easy to post videos on a YouTube channel and then link them on your web site and Facebook for multiple marketing opportunities simultaneously.

Types of Marketing Videos That You Can Create to Promote Your Business

So how can you take advantage of marketing videos to promote your business? Here are a few types of videos that you can produce.

Demonstrate your product or service

Bring your product or service to life through a marketing video. It’s much easier to show prospects why your products and services are the right answer for them. Think of all those “As Seen on TV” commercials; in 2 minutes or less products like the Snuggie, Steam Buddy and Ginzo knives became household names overnight.

Tutorial Videos

How many times have you started a search with “How to…” or “How do I…”? These are key search terms and you can take advantage of them by creating a tutorial video that allows people to follow along and do anything from fill out a mortgage application to create quality photos to refinish a cabinet. Can’t think of anything related to your business? Think about the questions that prospects or new clients ask for help with and you’ve got your topic. Tutorial videos also help to establish you as the Expert.

Customer testimonials

The next time a client says how great you are ask them to say it on video. Who better to talk about the customer experience than the customer? Testimonials help encourage others to take the first steps in becoming a customer themselves.

Webinars

If you’re giving presentations or demonstrations using GoTo, ScreenFlow or any other online meeting capture it and post it. You’ve already created the presentation you can now use it multiple times either by posting it on YouTube, or holding more webinars. We frequently capture webinars for a client who then uses them to market to more prospects down the road.

Having Trouble Creating a YouTube Channel?

Last week we talked about some things to consider before creating your YouTube channel. Now we’re going to go over some of the basics about how to set up your actual channel.

Creating a YouTube Channel

Once you’ve made the decision that creating a YouTube channel is something that could benefit you, the next step is to create a Google account if you don’t already have one. Once you’ve done this you should head over to YouTube and on the top right corner you’ll want to click the sign in button. This will take you to a screen where you can choose subscriptions. You can edit these later so you can skip this step for now.

Make It Yours

Now that you’ve created a blank channel you’ll want to personalize it. You want to use your YouTube Channel as an extension of your brand identity. This means you should select images that are consistent with your online presence as well as use a similar voice when speaking to the views. Your Icon can be changed by clicking the pencil while hovering over it. This redirects you to Google+ in order to edit your image. You’ll need to go back to your YouTube channel and refresh your icon image in order to see it. Next step is to add channel art. You probably guessed right, you can do this by selecting the blue button that says add channel art and uploading a photo.

Next you’ll want to add a description and some links so you can give your audience more ways to connect with you. You can add a description by clicking the about panel. Just tell the viewers what you’re about, nothing too complicated here. You can also add links in the about panel. YouTube will automatically include your Google+ account but you can add other social media sites as well as a custom link for your website.

So you’ve set up your channel but how does it benefit you? We’ll be covering that next.
